Could your institution use another set of hands? Hire a young Canadian through the Young Canada Works (YCW) program and receive support for your institution!
There are two streams of funding:
- YCW in Heritage Organizations (YCW-HO): an employment program for students
- YCW at Building Careers in Heritage (YCW-BCH): funds internships for young college or university graduates.
YCW is an important investment in the future of the museum industry, creating professional development opportunities for future colleagues, and supports the CMA’s strategic objective to strengthen the museum workforce today and for the future.

Need help?
Apply to YCW and employ a talented student or graduate. The YCW program may cover up to 85% of their wage, as well as other expenses.
Visit our resources page for help to apply, manage and report on the outcomes of your YCW position. This also includes a collection of success stories, interviews and insights from previous program students and interns, as well as museum employers.
Investing in the cultural sector
The YCW program provides funding for jobs and internships in museums and heritage organizations as part of the Government of Canada’s Youth Employment and Skills Strategy.

Volunteer
The CMA recruits volunteer peer reviewers to evaluate submitted applications.
