What are the dates for CMA2021?

The conference will kick off on May 3, 2021 and sessions will take place between May 3rd – 13th. Secure these key dates and times in your calendar!

What's the format for CMA2021?

This is a virtual conference. We will have inspiring keynote presentations, dynamic panel discussions on various critical and technical issues, useful sessions on certain technical issues with ample time for audience participation, and opportunities for networking. The conference will also include our Directors’ Symposium, 2021 Awards Ceremony and Annual General Meeting.

What’s the theme of CMA2021?

This year has been challenging, but Canada’s museum community has seized opportunities to adapt, learn, and progress. The theme, Moving forward, a call for greater solidarity, connectedness and social responsibility to propel the museum sector ahead. With new insights and experiences, we are creating room for change, gleaning from one another’s expertise, and forging new partnerships so that museums can continue to play a crucial role in society, making significant contributions to our economy and societal well-being.

When does registration open and how much will it cost to attend?

When will I know if my proposal has been accepted or declined?

All decisions have now been communicated by email with those who submitted proposals. If you did not hear back, please lest us know at conferences@museums.ca.

How can I become an exhibitor or sponsor at CMA2021?

The CMA runs a bursary program. Can I apply for a bursary to attend CMA2021?

Yes, CMA2021 participation is eligible for bursaries. Please note that we are limited to 5 bursaries for this event, so apply early.

How is the CMA ensuring that it is offering a conference that is inclusive?

In the spirit of ensuring our conference is inclusive of people from various backgrounds and vantage points, the CMA decided to accept all proposals. While we cannot offer a conference that is free of charge, we are also doing our best to ensure that the price-point for participation is reasonable
