About this special tribute

One of the objectives of the Canadian Museums Association (CMA) is to strengthen the museum workforce today and for the future. We do this in a number of ways, including celebrating professional contributions to the field through awards.

We’re thrilled to have an awards program that recognizes the remarkable achievements and tremendous work of museum professionals across the country. Museums are such an integral part of their communities and these awards are a celebration of the important, yet often unnoticed, work of museums in Canada.

We hope you enjoy this tribute to the CMA Award winners of 2020; we would like to thank our award partners for their collaboration, as well as the members of the awards juries, who reviewed the nominations, deliberated and selected these esteemed winners. Most importantly, would like to extend our utmost gratitude to the award recipients for their contributions to the Canadian museum sector.
